Helping maintain, support, and beautify our Chalmers community
Who is the Green Team?
The Green Team is the dedicated summer staff at Chalmers Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation. They carry out many responsibilities within the neighbourhood, doing their best to make sure the area is clean and that community members receive help.
Yard work services
One of the main ways the Green Team helps out is by providing free grass-cutting and yard work services to those in need. Community members can call in and schedule an appointment. The team arrives ready to cut the grass, pull weeds, and weed-whack the area.
This service helps homeowners who may not have the proper tools or who face mobility or health concerns.
Beautification & community care
The Green Team planted fruits and vegetables along Henderson and at 243 this year, and planted flowers down Watt Street this summer, ensuring they are watered and maintained each week. Their efforts bring vibrant colour and positivity to our community spaces.
On top of that, they've made efforts to help keep the community clear of graffiti and to keep our streets and parks clean and safe.
